These days, there is a lot of talk going on about all kinds of leveling guides. Endless debates are going on about which is the best mage leveling guide and if you should use one at all.
There are some people claiming that leveling guides would in fact destroy the atmosphere in WoW. They say that by using a leveling guide addon you simply rush through the world, ignoring the story and quest descriptions and events.
On the other hand, players that use such guides say that they have already leveled up their main character and don’t need to see everything again. They just want to get to the end game with a new alt. They don’t want to go through the frustrating process of leveling again and again.
I can understand both types of players and their opinions.
I guess WoW would become a really strange game if all the players would use a mage leveling guide to rush through the world to get to the end game content.
Everyone would play on their own, not acting like human beings, ignoring the world around them. Kind of like commuters going to work in the morning.
But the fact that these add-ons aren’t banned by Blizzard shows that it’s not offensive to use them at all. The truth is, that the game mechanics right now reward playing solo. There are few moments when you actually need to interact with other players.
Let’s be honest. Would you rather want to quit WoW just because you are frustrated about the time it takes to level an alt? Or would you rather get through with it and enjoy the end game content?
Guess what Blizzard wants. I think it’s a win-win situation. Keep playing and both yourself and Blizzard are happy. You can enjoy playing with your friends and guild mates and Blizzard can make some profits.
Folks, just enjoy the game your way and stop getting irritated if somebody has a different opinion on your mage leveling guide. As long as we all play by the rules, we’ll get to enjoy the game.
